Maintenance Worker - HVAC Technician
260-day position
Salary: $22.29/hour base salary (based on full time experience)

Available: Immediately

*A negative TB test must be on file prior to starting work

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or high school equivalent
  • Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License
  • Knowledge of air-conditioning and heating systems (five years experience)
  • Certificate or licensed
  • Diagnostic skill of heating and air-conditioning systems

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Status: "At-will" Employee

Responsible To: Director of Operations

Job Goal: Installation and general maintenance of all air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment within the school system.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Maintains neat appearance, courteous conduct, and works amicably with all school and maintenance personnel
  • Participates in additional training provided by the Board of Education that would relate to this field of work
  • Installs and provides general maintenance for all air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment
  • Works from specifications and blueprints
  • Assigns and supervises helpers, apprentices and other semi-skilled workers
  • Plans work schedules and places orders for necessary materials and equipment to perform work
  • Provides technical advice to supervisory personnel in areas related to this field
  • Possesses knowledge of materials, supplies and equipment relating to this field
  • Possesses and maintains a valid South Carolina Driver's License
  • Performs other related duties as required as well as all other duties as assigned
