About the Role:
We are seeking a Maintenance Worker, for a Permanent Part-time role (15.2 hours/ week) location - Gill Waminda Aged Care Centre, NSW.
Purpose of the Role:
The Maintenance Worker, as a collaborative member of the staff team, is responsible for the general maintenance of the internal and external environment of the site. They will ensure that the provision of essential safety, preventative and breakdown maintenance is undertaken in consultation with Leadership roles within the organisation.
The Maintenance Worker will complete regulatory equipment checks and assist with a variety of housekeeping and support service functions to ensure optimum standards in the physical environment of the site.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Undertaking basic repairs to building, equipment and assets and similar items not calling for trade’s skills or knowledge
Carry out physical inspections of property and premises, assets and equipment, safety and compliance
Providing support to your line manager to achieve quality, efficient and effective output by contractors dealing with property and asset related service delivery
Ensure all essential safety requirements including fire safety, electrical and other legislative tasks are carried out in accordance with standards, policies, and legislation
Ensure corrective and preventative maintenance activities are completed as scheduled and within the required time frames
Maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasant environment for all residents, visitors, and staff
Act as a role model in promoting The Salvation Army Aged Care Vision, Mission and Values.
Education and Qualifications Required:
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the aged care industry, including the application of the Aged Care Quality & Safety Standards, especially Standard 45
An understanding of building compliance and certification
Demonstrated ability in the effective understanding and execution of:
Building and grounds maintenance
Workplace Health and Safety and risk and hazard management
Contractor management and time management
Demonstrated understanding and proven ability to select and use suitable tools and techniques, including a strong knowledge of electrical power tools and hand tools
Requirements of the role:
A National Criminal History Check is required
Valid Driver’s License
Shift timings: 8:00am to 4pm (Mon-Fri)
What we offer
Salary on offer: $29.74 - $31 hourly based on experience level and qualifications +12% superannuation; exclusive of penalties, allowances, NFP salary packaging ($15,900 + $2650 meal and entertainment card).

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
