Penn-Mar Castings in Hanover, PA is looking for a 1st Shift Maintenance Welder/Mechanic.

What are the hours and pay?

• 1st Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday ( hours may vary)
• Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00/hour (based on experience)

What is the job?

You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and fabricating equipment throughout our foundry operations.

In this role you will:

• Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of foundry equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns as they occur
• Fabricate and weld components including guards, brackets, repairs, and structural supports
• Work with MIG, Stick, and torch welding processes
• Maintain conveyors, sand systems, overhead cranes, mixers, and other production equipment
• Support hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, motors, gearboxes, and mechanical systems
• Respond to equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime
• Use blueprints, drawings, and measuring tools to complete repairs and fabrication
• Participate in shutdowns, installations, and continuous improvement projects
• Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, hot work permits, and PPE requirements

What do you bring to the job?

• Strong safety mindset and dependability
• High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Welding and fabrication experience (MIG and Stick required)
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read blueprints and measurements
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Experience in foundry, heavy manufacturing, steel mill, mining, or similar environment is a plus
