ROLE MISSION
Ensure maximum equipment uptime and uninterrupted factory operations by owning preventive maintenance systems, rapid breakdown recovery, and reliable utility performance (power, water, steam, and production systems).
This role is responsible for keeping the factory running — not fixing it after failure.
CORE OUTCOME RESPONSIBILITY
The Maintenance & Utilities Supervisor is accountable for:
• â¥95% equipment uptime across all production lines
• Zero avoidable production stoppages due to mechanical failure
• Fully functional preventive maintenance system (not reactive repairs)
• Stable and cost-efficient utility supply (electricity, water, steam where applicable)
• Rapid breakdown response and root cause elimination (not repeated failures)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and implement structured preventive maintenance schedules for all plant equipment
• Ensure strict adherence to maintenance cycles (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)
• Transition maintenance from reactive repair mode to planned reliability system
• Identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and utility failures quickly and effectively
• Lead root cause analysis for all major breakdowns
• Ensure corrective actions prevent recurrence
• Minimize production downtime through rapid intervention
• Ensure stable operation of all utility systems:
o Power supply systems (grid, generator, backup systems)
o Water systems and treatment units
o Wastewater handling systems
o Boilers, dryers, and steam systems (if applicable)
• Monitor consumption efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Prevent utility-related production disruptions
• Maintain full operational readiness of:
o conveyors
o pumps
o rotating equipment
o industrial dryers
o processing machinery
• Monitor equipment performance trends and wear patterns
• Recommend upgrades or replacements based on performance data

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with:
o occupational safety standards
o environmental regulations
o internal company safety policies
• Enforce safe working practices across maintenance team
• Prevent unsafe equipment operation from entering production line
• Maintain accurate and structured maintenance logs:
o breakdown records
o repair history
o spare parts usage
o maintenance schedules
• Provide regular reports on:
o downtime causes
o maintenance performance
o equipment reliability trends
• Track and manage critical spare parts inventory
• Ensure availability of high-risk replacement components
• Reduce downtime caused by spare parts delays
• Recommend procurement priorities based on failure risk
• Identify technical improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
• Recommend upgrades to machinery, systems, and processes
• Support cost reduction through energy and equipment optimization
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Hard Requirements
• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3–5 years hands-on maintenance experience in:
o FMCG manufacturing OR
o agro-processing OR
o industrial production environments
Technical Competence (MUST HAVE)
Candidate must demonstrate:
• Strong knowledge of:
o rotating equipment
o conveyors
o pumps
o boilers / industrial heating systems
o industrial dryers
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair capability (not supervisory-only experience)
