The Role

An opportunity exists for a Mechanical Maintenance Trade Supervisor to join the Ulan West Development team.

Key Responsibilities

As the Mechanical Maintenance Trade Supervisor for the Development department, you will report to the Development Mechanical Coordinator and be responsible for:

  • Effectively planning and supervising mechanical maintenance to ensure the safety, availability, reliability and performance in the development area of the mine, particularly on Joy 12CM30 miners, Sandvik MB650 miners, Joy 10SC42 shuttle cars, Joy FCT, Joy DMU and Joy FB14 feeder breakers.

  • Liaising with shift supervisors, tradespersons and operators regarding the condition and performance of equipment;

  • Contributing to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives regarding development mechanical engineering systems and procedures on site.

  • Determining and organising parts, labour and equipment to undertake maintenance plans and major breakdowns;

  • Providing technical advice, assistance and development of high-quality mechanical tradespeople & apprentices;

You’ll succeed if you have

  • Minimum 3 year’ experience in an underground coal environment;

  • Mechanical Trade, Diploma Qualification or Mechanical Engineering Degree;

  • Strong technical understanding of maintenance practices on development equipment

  • Ideally have experience in supervising a maintenance crew;

  • Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills.
