Job Description

Hiring Rate: $42.00 per hour
Schedule: Yellow 2-2-3 Shift (Mon- Tues 6:00-18:00 and Fri-Sun 6:00-18:00 / Wed - Thurs 6:00-18:00)

The Maintenance Technician, Pipe and Steam Fitter, designs, assembles, installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs pipe systems carrying water, steam, chemicals and fuel in heating systems, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to your area of responsibility.

• Maintain and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Troubleshoot all production, utility and processing equipment
• Install and train on new equipment
• Performs equipment inspections
• Design, assemble, install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair pipe systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, fuel in heating systems, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot instrument air systems including compressors, piping, regulators, dryers, and specialized gas systems (nitrogen generation)
• Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Technical
• Trade TQ (BC or inter-provincial) Pipefitter/Steamfitter
• Knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems and gas fired boilers would be an asset
• Experience in high pressure steam and gas piping systems
• Familiarity with building plumbing systems including drainage and venting, domestic hot/cold water supply, backflow preventers, and water filtration systems
Attributes
• GMP Knowledge
• Troubleshooting skills
• Forklift certification or experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Can work well independently and is also a great team player
• Willing to do shift-work
