Primary Work Location:

Supporting all our physical clinical supportive housing sites. Timmy’s Home is one of several Cardea Health transitional housing programs for medically complex and behaviorally vulnerable unhoused individuals. Cardea Health’s transitional housing programs work with a variety of different referring partners across Alameda County. Our transitional housing programs provide supportive services including onsite nurse and caregiver supports, transportation to medical appointments, meals, housing support linkage, and more.

The Timmy's Home Maintenance Technician will complete routine maintenance and minor repairs needed at the Timmy's Home program site. Under the direction of Timmy's Home Program Director, the Maintenance Technician will follow the prescribed building maintenance schedule to ensure optimal functioning of the hotel site. In addition, the Maintenance Technician will respond to facilities issues to assess issues that arise. The Maintenance Technician will repair issues within their scope and recommend next an approach for larger repairs.

Job Responsibilities &

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Keep all rooms, common facilities, and other areas functional and in good repair

  • Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc

  • Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc

  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues

  • Install appliances and equipment

  • Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc

  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs

  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)

  • Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)

  • Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations

  • May be required to work occasional weekends or after-hours

Minimum Required Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Must provide proof of COVID vaccination or willing to be vaccinated

  • Have a passion for serving marginalized populations

  • Compliance with all company policies

  • Applicants may be required to take a background check after a conditional offer is made. Pursuant to State and local Fair Chance Ordinances we will consider employing qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Education and

Experience:

  • At least two years of related experience required

  • Proven experience as a skilled maintenance person

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

  • Professionalism, integrity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed

  • Experience working with people experiencing homelessness preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent sitting or stationary work

Work Environment:

  • This position will require an on-site presence
