At JTEKT Automotive Tennessee Vonore, our Maintenance Technicians play a critical role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain advanced automated production equipment in a fast-paced Tier-1 automotive manufacturing environment.
You will be the go-to expert for solving complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues—helping minimize downtime and keep production on track. From diagnosing equipment failures to making real-time repairs and improvements, your work directly impacts productivity, quality, and overall operational success.

Purpose
Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, washers, powder coat, and assembly systems across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic functions.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including three-phase power, PLCs, and CNC controls
- Diagnose AC/DC drives, servo motors, and related components
- Support mechanical systems including gearboxes, ball screws, rails, and bearings
- Perform fabrication tasks including cutting, welding, and grinding
- Troubleshoot and modify pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Use precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools
- Identify, source, and replace parts; modify equipment as needed
- Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Requires standing and walking for extended periods (up to 12-hour shifts), performing repetitive motions, lifting up to 50 pounds, and visually inspecting equipment and components in a manufacturing environment.
