Job Description

Skilled Tradesman – Construction – Renovations – Plumbing - Electric

We’re looking for a highly skilled, dependable tradesman who can hit the ground running and contribute immediately across a variety of construction and renovation projects for our DC programs.

Ideal Candidate

You’re someone who doesn’t need hand-holding—you can walk onto a job site, assess what needs to be done, and get to work right away. You have vast experience (at least 5 years) with construction, framing, pluming, drywall, and renovations. You take pride in your craftsmanship and consistently deliver high-quality results.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform hands-on work in construction, framing, plumbing, drywall, and general renovations
  • Oversee Maintenance Techs (levels 1 & 2)
  • Complete both projects from start to finish
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans
  • Troubleshoot issues on-site and implement effective solutions
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with team members, contractors, and project managers

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in multiple trades (framing, plumbing, drywall, renovations required)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Reliable transportation with ability to pass 3-year driver’s abstract
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma orGED

Experience: Five (5) years experience in a related area and Valid Driver's License

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Master's Level Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Master's Level Competence in maintenance and construction tasks, processes and basic tools.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other staff, agencies, the public and clients.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
