Severn Trent has a great opportunity within our Water Treatment team in the Warwickshire area to join as our new Maintenance Technician. Whether your background is in Electrical or Instrumental maintenance, we’re keen to hear from you!
This is a regional field-based role, where you’ll start work from home and be provided with a company vehicle, mobile, safety gear, and tools. Hours: Mon–Thu 7:30–3:30, Fri 7:30–3:00 (flexibility on start and end times can be offered), plus standby will be required.
Are you an Electrical/Instrumental Engineer or Technician looking for specialist training, career progression, and premium overtime rates? No water industry experience? No problem.
Our treatment works operate as complex process plants, just like those in manufacturing, energy, or other industrial sectors. If you’ve worked with process control systems and have a working knowledge of industrial electrical installation requirements and standards, your skills will transfer seamlessly.
You’ll also get specialist training, work with advanced electrical systems, and help prevent issues before they happen - keeping communities and rivers safe.
This isn’t just a job - it’s a place to grow and build a career while making a real difference to the environment. You’ll also be part of a close-knit local team - a work family - where you can build friendships, enjoy a laugh, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
If you’re passionate about electrical/instrumental engineering and want to join a nationally renowned business with ambitious goals, Severn Trent is where your skills - and your career - will thrive.
It's not just a job; it's a career. We offer benefits that reward great work and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. Plus, you'll contribute to the environment and community too.

Water is wonderful. Without it we’d be lost. With it, everything’s possible. For every toothbrush, for every loo flushed. For the hot showers, the cool drinks, the cups of tea. But it’s not just at the heart of our homes. It’s at the heart of everything; our schools, our businesses, our hospitals. Saving lives, helping communities thrive.
We’re Severn Trent, a diverse and amazing group of people who want to keep it that way. We bring you clean water and we take it away safely too. But it’s not just what we do. It’s how we do it: not just talking, but going over and above. Stepping up and rolling our sleeves up.
It’s because we care. Not only about our water but our corner of the country. And we care for our amazing people who make all this possible. Don’t just take our word for it; we’re a Glassdoor Top 50 Company – one of the best employers in the UK right now.
At Severn Trent, we do more, because we care.
