The shift
Night shift is 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Four 12-hour nights. The days rotate monthly: one month Monday through Thursday, the next Friday through Monday. Then it switches. Overtime and weekend coverage as needed. Shift differential applies.
You would maintain and improve the manufacturing equipment that makes the product, on the night shift. Preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting downtime, machine upgrades, and the diagnostic work that keeps quality and output where they need to be.
Night is often when the longer PM and the project work get done. You still support production when the lines are running. Conveyors, fillers, case equipment, palletizing, and the rest of the floor are the equipment. GMP sanitation in your area is part of the job.
The plant has a real CMMS. You use it. You also support the safety program, including lockout/tagout and making sure equipment safeguards actually work.
