Job Description

Join the opening team at Moxy Hotel & Residence Inn Portland Thompson’s Point, a brand-new dual-branded Marriott hotel bringing fresh energy, style, and hospitality to one of Portland’s most exciting waterfront destinations, opening Summer 2026. As home to the first Moxy hotel in Northern New England, this is a chance to be part of something new from the very beginning — welcoming guests to a vibrant stay steps from Thompson’s Point’s concerts, events, dining, and culture.

Be part of something from the ground up. We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-driven Maintenance Technician to help bring our property to life and keep it running at its best from day one.

If you’re someone who enjoys fixing things, solving problems, and seeing the immediate impact of your work, this is your chance to play a key role in creating a seamless, welcoming experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

In this role, you won’t just maintain a building—you’ll help shape the first impressions of a brand-new destination.

What You’ll Do

As a vital member of our opening team, you will:

  • Keep our brand-new hotel in top condition by performing repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and building systems
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues before they impact the guest experience
  • Bring spaces to life with hands-on work like painting, drywall, fixtures, doors, and locks
  • Execute preventative maintenance programs to ensure everything runs smoothly from the start
  • Partner with leadership on special projects that help launch and refine the property
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to maintenance requests and guest needs
  • Support overall hotel operations, including assisting with housekeeping support or shuttle duties when needed
  • Help maintain the hotel’s exterior, ensuring our first impression always shines

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You’re naturally handy and take pride in fixing things the right way
  • You enjoy working around people and creating positive experiences
  • You’re organized, dependable, and can manage your time independently
  • You stay calm under pressure and enjoy solving problems on the spot
  • You communicate clearly and professionally with both guests and teammates
  • You’re comfortable learning new systems and technology
  • You’re flexible and ready to support a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Experience That Helps You Shine:

  • Previous maintenance experience (hotel experience is a plus)
  • Familiarity with kitchen/refrigeration equipment
  • Knowledge of fire and life safety systems

Why Join Our Opening Team?

This is more than a job—it’s a chance to be part of a launch. You’ll work alongside a team building something special from day one, with opportunities to grow as the hotel grows.

We’ve got you covered with:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Company-funded HRA & Flexible Spending Accounts
  • 401(k) with employer match (Traditional & Roth options)
  • Paid Time Off
  • Hotel discounts for you and your family
  • Exclusive savings on travel, entertainment, and retail
  • Training, development, and real career growth opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Program and supplemental benefits

Start something new. Build something lasting.

Join us and help create a hotel guests will love—right from the very beginning.
