Job Description


The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and facility systems supporting the electroplating line and warehouse operations. This position ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently to support production requirements while minimizing downtime. The Maintenance Technician works closely with production and operations teams to maintain equipment reliability and ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and predictive maintenance on electroplating equipment, warehouse machinery, and facility systems to ensure reliable operation and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to support continuous production flow.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain the physical structure of the facility, including lighting, HVAC systems, plumbing, doors, and general building fixtures.
  • Perform general facility repairs including painting, carpentry, and minor structural work as needed.
  • Identify critical spare parts required to support operations; maintain, update, and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of long lead-time or non-local items.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors performing maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with company safety standards and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, compare pricing, and procure parts or services as needed.
  • Assist with installation, upgrades, and repairs of equipment and facility systems.
  • Develop, perform, and track preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and extend asset life.
  • Work closely with production personnel to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, including proper use of PPE.
  • Complete maintenance reports and provide timely communication to management regarding assigned work orders.
  • Support inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently.
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices to support equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience working with industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, forklifts, and electroplating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with production teams, management, and external vendors.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Education
  • Required: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred: Trade school certification or technical training preferred.
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, motors, and production equipment.
  • Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial equipment and facility systems.
  • Experience supporting facility maintenance, including basic HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building repairs.
  • Experience working with electroplating equipment or similar industrial processing equipment is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to use hands and tools for extended periods of time to complete repairs and maintenance work.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at varying heights when required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
