CGC Inc. is currently recruiting a Maintenance Technician - Millwright to join for our quarry operation in Little Narrows, Nova Scotia! This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. This is primarily a day shift schedule however evening, weekend work and overtime may be required from time to time based on operational needs.
As a Maintenance Technician - Millwright you will:
· Perform maintenance on plant equipment including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and piping in a quarry setting
· Work as part of a team to install, assemble and upgrade machinery as production increases
· Conduct routine checks, preventative maintenance and adjustments on various equipment
· Address mechanical failures to safely and effectively minimize equipment downtime
· Actively support company values and initiatives around diversity & inclusion, continuous improvement, training & development, etc.
· Understand that safety is not just a priority, it is what we do.
What you bring:
· Technical training with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience; Red Seal certification is preferred but not required
· Proven mechanical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience following preventative maintenance programs
· Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturer manuals to guide installation and repairs
· Experience in crushing / milling and ship loading procedures are nice to have but not required
· Proficient in the use of digital tools and platforms ie. Maintenance and manufacturing software
· Ability to evaluate performance and leverage tools to retain, engage and develop team members
· A track record of great work performance, attendance, and safety behaviors.
