The Hours

The hours for this position are first shift, Monday - Friday.

During our busy season we anticipate there being some Overtime available. Busy season is happening right now and we anticipate it going through October but this can change subject to the needs of the business.

The Location

We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH 03055. This position is onsite.

The primary duty of this position is to support production needs by performing routine repairs and maintenance of Alene Candles LLC facilities, production equipment, and support systems. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated control systems used throughout the manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and understand schematics, electrical drawings, control diagrams, and technical documentation. Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude is required, along with knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial automation, and machine controls. The successful candidate will understand the principles and theories of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance techniques, as well as basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing systems. This individual must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, possess strong problem-solving skills, and work collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Additional Job Details

  • Maintain and repair production and building support equipment, including automated, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motor controls, relays, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Diagnose electrical and controls-related equipment failures to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate sensors, safety devices, and control components used in automated manufacturing systems.
  • Support equipment startups, machine upgrades, automation improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fabricate and/or modify machinery parts using mills, lathes, drill presses, welders, acetylene torches, and brazing or soldering equipment.
  • Provide training, work direction, and guidance while performing work in one or more skilled trades.
  • Perform various types of facility maintenance, including basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work.
  • Implement preventive maintenance procedures to improve equipment performance and reduce lost production time.
  • Create and maintain maintenance documentation for production equipment and facility systems.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and machine performance.
  • Maintain Alene standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production operations.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service and downtime periods.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to make quick decisions while troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Utilize strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to evaluate multiple variables and develop practical solutions.
  • Occasionally perform other duties and special projects assigned by management.

Education Required

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) with six (6) years of practical industrial maintenance experience; OR
  • Graduate of a technical school with four (4) years of industrial maintenance experience.

Range of Experience

  • 4-8 years of industrial maintenance experience, depending upon education and technical background.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, motor controls, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting production machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar systems.
  • Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), sensors, motor controls, and machine safety systems.
  • Ability to perform PLC diagnostics and minor program modifications preferred.
  • Experience with electrical control panel wiring, controls system diagnostics, and automation troubleshooting.
  • Advanced PC knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience as an Electrical Apprentice or higher.
  • Experience with Preventive Maintenance software, CAD software, and Project Management software preferred.
  • Posses or have the ability to obtain a CDL Medical Certificate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, use fingers and hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with assistance of others or lift equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
