Job Description

The Mission

A privately held, family-owned manufacturer producing mission-critical components for the defense, medical, and aerospace industries is expanding its maintenance team. This is a hands-on technical role in a modern, climate-controlled production environment where the work directly supports national security and life-saving technology.

If you have the technical discipline to keep complex industrial equipment running — and the judgment to do it on your own when the shift calls for it — this role was built for veterans like you.

What You'll Own

  • Troubleshoot and repair

mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic systems — including PLCs (input/output diagnostics), drives, and power supplies up to 480V

  • Diagnose and correct failures

in production equipment with minimal downtime, working independently once trained

  • Plan and execute maintenance work

applying knowledge of mechanical and electrical theory, the National Electrical Code, and equipment operating principles

  • Install, start up, and shut down equipment

in full compliance with OSHA and site safety procedures

  • Operate the CMMS

(Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage work orders, log repairs, and track equipment history

  • Execute preventive maintenance

on a defined schedule and maintain accurate performance records

  • Move between two facilities

located approximately 10 minutes apart — reliable personal transportation required

What Success Looks Like

At 30 days:

Oriented to both facilities, trained on first shift alongside experienced technicians, building familiarity with the equipment and the CMMS.

At 60–90 days:

Running your shift independently — the only technician on the floor, making real-time decisions about repairs, priorities, and safety.

Ongoing:

Keeping production moving, surfacing recurring problems before they become failures, and contributing to a team that measures itself on uptime and precision.

Requirements

  • Must have served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Reserves, or U.S. National Guard.

  • 5+ years

of industrial maintenance experience with demonstrated proficiency across
mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic systems

  • Electrical experience up to 480V

    — installation, troubleshooting, and repair

  • PLC familiarity

    — input/output diagnostics and repair (programming not required)

  • Mechanical troubleshooting

    — hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves (willing to train strong electrical candidates on the mechanical side)

  • Ability to read and interpret
    schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings

  • Comfort with
    precision measuring tools

  • Strong independent troubleshooting skills and a
    safety-first mindset

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;

    trade/tech school certification preferred

  • Reliable personal transportation (required — work is split across two nearby facilities)
