Electro-Mechanical Technician III
Department: Manufacturing Operations
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

As an Electro-Mechanical Technician III, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing manufacturing equipment that supports the production of solutions relied upon by healthcare providers worldwide. In this senior-level position, you will troubleshoot complex equipment issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor technicians while helping ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do

As an Electro-Mechanical Technician III, you will:

Drive Equipment Reliability & Performance

  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain complex electrical, PLC, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure production equipment operates at optimal performance levels to meet safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment failures using root-cause analysis techniques to minimize downtime.

Support Manufacturing Excellence

  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities in alignment with maintenance schedules and production priorities.
  • Maintain high equipment availability and support throughput goals through effective work order execution and equipment optimization.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document maintenance activities and drive accountability.

Lead Technical Problem Solving

  • Troubleshoot control circuits, PLCs, VFDs, and integrated automation systems.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, PLC logic, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic drawings, and mechanical blueprints to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to identify and implement equipment improvements.

Champion Safety & Compliance

  • Complete repairs, modifications, and equipment upgrades in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.

Mentor & Develop Others

  • Serve as a technical resource for maintenance technicians and production personnel.
  • Provide guidance, instruction, and knowledge sharing to support team capability development.
  • Assist maintenance leadership in driving continuous improvement and workforce development initiatives.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Trade School, Apprenticeship Program, or equivalent technical training.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Advanced knowledge of three-phase electrical systems up to 480 volts.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, electrical controls, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities associated with maintenance operations.
  • Ability to work alternative shifts and overtime as business needs require.
  • Must provide and maintain a standard set of personal shop tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience in thermoforming, printing, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with PLC programming and automation system modifications.
  • Machine shop experience including milling machines and lathes.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience in highly automated manufacturing environments.

  • PLC and VFD troubleshooting, programming, and optimization.
  • Mechanical system repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting.

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, varying temperatures, noise, and industrial processes.
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and lifting.
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
