The Maintenance Technician is a key member to the service operations at the Riverview Wastewater Facility. You will be responsible for upgrading and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment, troubleshooting and repairing PLC's and working with 480V.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for sewer line repairs, line installation, plant and related equipment installation/maintenance
  • Maintains work truck/tools
  • Troubleshoots site equipment, including but not limited to pumps, power units, process and treatment system electrical, hydraulic and mechanical equipment
  • Pulls motors/pumps for repair, in include wiring and fabrication of parts as necessary
  • Replaces valves
  • Assists with assessment, planning and execution of service orders, including procurement and inventory.

What You'll Bring

  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Alabama driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • 3-4 years mechanical or electrical troubleshooting and repair or construction preferable
  • Backhoe/forklift experience desired.
  • Experience working with PLC's
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment

Work Environment

  • Work is performed primarily outside and is subject to weather and environmental conditions.
  • Worker is subject to adverse weather and environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, humidity and precipitation; noise and vibration from heavy equipment; physical hazards from moving machinery, equipment with moving parts, traffic, hazardous chemicals, and bacteria in wastewater.
