Location: Dallas, Texas Area
Schedule: Full-time

Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt

Shift:Night (train on day)

As a Maintenance Technician,you’llensure the reliability of our production equipment and create a safe environment for your colleagues. Your day-to-day will include:

EssentialResponsibilities

  • Follow Standard Work Instructions provided for the assigned department

  • Follow ISO and Hempel e-convention guidelines

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all production equipment including but not limited to, Valves, Motors, Pumps, Conveyors, Mixers, Dissolvers, Filling Lines by referring to manuals and manufacturer’s recommendations and work instructions

  • Repair and rebuild all production equipment including but not limited to, pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumaticequipmentand all other mechanical equipment as needed.

  • Work with production personnel to troubleshoot all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic issues that affect production

  • Maintainongoing relationship building according to Hempel’s standard

  • Determinechanges in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments

  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges

  • Control downtime by working with production Supervisors and leads to work on equipment when not needed by production when possible

  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock todetermineinventory level;anticipatingneeded equipment, parts, and supplies

  • Work in Confined spaces as required using all required PPE and strictly following all safetyrules and regulationsand requirements

  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Documentation required in CMMS work order system

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment

  • Perform LOTO (Lock out tag out), Isolate and verify, fill out paperwork as needed toensuresafe repairs on all equipment before starting work

  • Lookup and reference all SDS (MSDS) when needed when working around different chemicals todetermineproper PPE needed

  • Report all safety and environmental concerns when issues are found and take steps to eliminate or mitigate when necessary to insure a safe working environment

  • Maintenance personnel are considered essential staff which requires them to report to work in all emergencies toassistas needed

  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations including industrial hygiene practices

  • Develop understanding of Hempel manufacturing process

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and followsafety rules and regulations, including C1/D1 environments

  • Basic understanding ofOSHA safety practices;OSHA 10Hour a plus

  • Entrylevelexperience or exposuretoelectrical and mechanical systemspreferred

  • Willingness to learnindustrial manufacturing processes

  • Basic knowledge ofmultimeters(voltage measurement) and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)

  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions follow preventive maintenance schedule and instructions

  • Basic understanding ofmechanical drawings(training provided if needed)

  • Strongmechanical aptitudeand attention to detail

  • Basictroubleshooting skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively inEnglish(read and write)

  • Basiccomputer skillsfor data entry and documentation

  • Team orientedwitha positive,safetyfocusedattitude

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired; technical coursework or certifications preferred

  • Experience with confined space entries preferred
