Job Description

The Maintenance Technician performs highly diversified duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of machines, equipment and plant facilities. This includes scheduled, unscheduled or emergency repairs. Perform regular preventive maintenance which also includes maintaining supporting documentation for the PM’s.

Hours of Operations:
Monday through Friday + Weekends
1st Shift: 6:00AM to 2:30PM – no shift differential
2nd Shift: 2:00PM to 10:30PM – with $1.00 shift differential
3rd Shift: 10:00PM to 6:30AM – with $1.50 shift differential

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make-adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.
• Utilizing Microsoft Office, order and schedule parts as well as jobs.
• Perform work in a safe manner and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Mechanic Level I: Basic mechanical skills, replacing bearings, gear boxes, motors, troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, working in team-based environments.
Mechanic Level II: Experience with basic electrical systems (starters fuses, contacts, relays) experience with compressors systems, air cylinders, sensors, hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, pressure cylinders). Building maintenance (small installations, light fixtures, plumbing).
Mechanic Level III: Experience with advanced electrical (resolving electrical issues, reading and writing electrical diagrams, reading mechanical blueprints, building small panels. basic PLC’s (check inputs, outputs, read ladder diagrams, changing small programs) basic machining, fabricating, welding.
Mechanic Level IV: Full knowledge of PLC programming, debugging, ladder diagrams, transfer data and programs, development of new programs. Experience with servo motors.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Able to communicate and take direction from Maintenance Manager and communicate effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
• Attention to detail.
• Legible record-keeping and data entry skills.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and have creative problem-solving abilities.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Welding and fabrication, full understanding of 3 Phase electrical, tree phase motor controls. Troubleshoot AC & DC drives.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
• Manufacturing environment - exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures.
• Depending on which location, our environments can be very warm or refrigerated.
• Team environment - must be able to work well with others and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• May be required to work weekend and night hours to fill in as needed.

Starting Pay: Maintenance Technician I $28.80/hr., Maintenance Technician II $31.70/hr., Maintenance Technician III $34.80/hr., a shift differential is offered for 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment.
