Grand Seton and Evanston Grand Village – Continuing and Independent Care Villages | Calgary, AB
Position Type: Full Time
Shift Schedule: Day (Evenings and Weekends as needed)

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Maintenance professional who is committed to providing high-quality service and contributing to a supportive team environment.

What You'll Do

• The sucessful Candidate will work between Seton Grand Village and Evanston Grand Village though the week.
• The Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager/ Community Managers.
• This is your opportunity to utilize your building and equipment skills in a healthcare setting.
• As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair work requiring considerable initiative and judgment in determining the appropriate work methods consistent with standards, regulations and procedures.
• You will utilize your maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance and repair duties on specialized equipment and building control systems, and to provide direction to other team members in order to meet operational requirements.
• In addition, you will perform specialized machine repairs, as well as the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment. You may be responsible to resolve escalated operational issues; act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues.

What You Bring

• Relevant building or facility maintenance background
• Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a Health Care Setting
• Up-to-date ABSA Certification is required
• Demonstrated experience on BMS JCI Metasys.
• Knowledge of blueprint and specifications reading and implementation.
• Experience using CMMS computerized maintenance management system.
• Must have a strong working knowledge of fire codes, building codes, and general safety regulations.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with coworkers, tenants , families and contractors on site.
• A strong mechanical or electrical understanding
• Minimum of three years related experience
• Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and prioritize work
• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate budgets
• The ability to create sound & economical solutions in emergency situation.
• Available for emergency call-back when necessary.
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• A negative TB test and up-to-date immunization record.
