Job Description

This role oversees all preventative maintenance activities, ensuring the reliable operation of equipment to meet production demands. This role requires expertise in electrical systems, working to maintain equipment efficiency, minimise downtime, and uphold safety standards.
Responsibilities of the role are:
Preventive Maintenance and Repairs
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in a timely manner to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation to track equipment performance and repairs.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting
• Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and technical manuals, resolving issues efficiently.
• Assist in resolving complex electrical problems on PLCs, servo drives, and sensors to maintain system performance.
• Provide technical support and advice to other departments and team members, offering guidance on best practices.
Safety and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all electrical safety standards, regulations, and internal policies (ISO9001, ISO45001).
• Identify and mitigate potential electrical hazards in the workplace, ensuring a safe environment for all employees.
• Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks, sharing best practices and promoting a culture of safety.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
• Work closely with production teams to ensure electrical systems align with operational goals and minimise disruptions.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to implement improvements in equipment performance and energy efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and training to apprentices and junior team members, enhancing team skills and knowledge.
Skills and Experience
1. Relevant certification in electrical trade with mechanical knowledge as an added advantage.
2. Proficiency in working with converting machinery, including sensors, PLCs, and servo drives.
3. Proven ability to diagnose issues efficiently and implement solutions within time-sensitive deadlines.
4. Strong understanding of technical manuals, drawings, and industry standards, with the ability to interpret them accurately.
5. Excellent organisational skills to prioritise tasks that support production objectives and deadlines.
6. Well-developed communication skills to collaborate with team members and train apprentices; experience working with business partners and suppliers.
7. High accuracy in performing tasks, ensuring professional presentation and adherence to operational standards.
8. Ability to support ad-hoc requests, including interstate travel, and work efficiently in a dynamic and evolving environment.
KPI's
1. Zero Loss Time Injuries (LTI’s).
2. 80% of all CMMS (Spindle/Up-Keep) entries to have additional comments.
3. 80% availability for weekend work and overtime.
4. 100% compliance reporting all identified hazards.
5. Reporting all defective equipment, and general reporting, utilising digital reporting tools such as CMMS (Up-Keep/Spindle), Teams, or text message.
