The Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, we are seeking skilled High Voltage Electricians to join our Mobile and Breakdown Maintenance Teams. The Bengalla Maintenance Team is a multi-disciplined team that is responsible for the execution or our asset management plan, including the preventive and corrective maintenance on our P & H Dragline, Fleet of Hitachi and Liebherr Excavators, Hitachi and Komatsu Hauls Trucks, as well as our fleet of Caterpillar Ancillary equipment.

Working closely within the Bengalla Maintenance team, our HV Electricians play a pivotal role in maintaining our equipment through execution of preventative maintenance work, defect elimination as well using your fault-finding skills in the breakdown maintenance environment.

Using your knowledge and skills, you are enabled to take ownership, prioritise, and plan tasks safely, efficiently and cost effectively as well as identify and action improvement opportunities that you see fit.

Working a Lifestyle 4/5 Roster – 12.5 hour shifts you will be responsible for:

• Conducting yourself professionally with integrity and always complying to regulatory requirements.
• Inspecting, fault finding and defect elimination of Bengalla’s heavy mining equipment fleets in a dynamic breakdown environment.
• Diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine servicing of equipment and plant
• Performing scheduled maintenance, statutory testing, and electrical installations
• Ensuring all work completed is to the highest standard to ensure fleet reliability
• Providing assistance in the development and improvement of maintenance strategies
• Complying with Bengalla’s Health, Safety and Environmental procedures at all times.
• Working collaboratively with all stakeholders in the maintenance environment, including planning, reliability, and engineering teams

Qualifications and experience

The successful candidate will have:

• Electrical Trade Qualification
• High Voltage Switching accreditation or willingness to complete qualification (HV Electrician)
• Demonstrated experience with maintenance of heavy mining equipment is essential (Hitachi, Cat and Komatsu)
• A strong service background with proven experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Sound computer skills
• Excellent work quality and attention to detail
• Ability to focus on continuous improvement, working safely and meeting environmental standards.
