Job Description

Position Summary:
The Facility Technician (Beacon Builder) supports the safe, efficient, and compliant renovation and maintenance of company-operated homes. This role ensures all work aligns with organizational policies and procedures, Joint Commission standards, Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) requirements, HCBS guidelines, and contractual obligations with Community Mental Health Agencies and other regulatory bodies.
The Technician is expected to model the organization’s ICARE Core Values—Integrity, Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence—in all daily duties, interactions, and work performed. Key responsibilities include executing renovation tasks, maintaining accessibility and safety features for individuals with disabilities, and ensuring all vendors and individuals performing work in Beacon facilities are properly vetted and meet company and regulatory standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Always be compliant with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Prepare residential environments for renovation, ensuring protection of furnishings, fixtures, and materials.
• Perform interior and exterior renovation tasks, including building and or moving walls, hang OSB, Plywood and drywall, finish drywall, Install/replace doors and windows, build repair/replace decks and ramps, painting, minor repairs, and accessibility modifications.
• Assist with setup of newly renovated homes by unpacking, organizing, and stocking supplies in kitchens, medication rooms, and storage areas.
• Verify that appliances and essential home functions operate safely and effectively, report deficiencies to the supervisor.
• Clean and prepare windows, Lexan panels, and other key surfaces to ensure a safe, resident-ready environment.
• Inspect doors, locks, windows, and accessibility features (e.g., ramps, handrails, levers) to ensure proper function and compliance.
• Maintain a professional, clean, and organized job site that reflects Beacon’s quality standards.
• Vet, monitor, and hold all vendors and individuals performing work within Beacon facilities accountable to Beacon’s safety, quality, and regulatory expectations.

Education and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma, preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• Must pass criminal background checks, central registry check (in applicable states) and child abuse registry (in applicable states).

Work Environment:
This position requires flexibility to shift tasks as assigned and work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A strong independent work ethic and accountability are essential.

Travel:
Travel is required based on project location and is primarily in-state during business days.
