The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Plant Manager or his/her designate and is responsible for inspecting/diagnosing and repairing machinery and equipment and to keep written logs on repair, inventory, and preventative maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance involving electrical, pneumatic, structural, plumbing, hydraulic and equipment repair or replacement
• Mechanical repair on all equipment and facility/grounds along with general fabrication
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, breakdowns, or other facility issues
• Understand and operate basic production PLC controls; basic control operations to be able to safely perform required tasks such as: PM work that requires start up procedures, shut down procedures, and energy deisolation procedures; ability to adequately meet criteria, obtain and retain basic PLC training for production departmental work
• Keep organized and detailed maintenance logs and records of equipment and other PM logs
• Inputting digital logs and other data entry
• Operate a forklift and yard truck and other necessary machinery/equipment
• Order parts as needed while maintaining crucial spare parts logs and inventory
• Work in compliance with company safety and operating procedures while promoting positive safety culture
• Collaborate with team operators across all departments to ensure equipment and machines are operating efficiently and safely while maintaining equipment reliability
• Support continuous improvement and other LEAN initiatives
• Monitor and achieve established KPIs such as OEE, quality standards, EHS standards, and ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with all company goals.
• Promote positive maintenance and PM culture
• Other duties, as assigned
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Mechanical knowledge
• Previous forklift experience
• Ability to lift to 50lbs.
• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing setting
• Capable of working with a team and independently efficiently
• Capable of following a production report while working independently
