Maintenance Technician, under the general supervision of the Coordinator, performs highly skilled and specialized preventative and corrective airfield and equipment maintenance to two parts of the airport which include Grounds Maintenance and Building Maintenance. This role also assists with event preparation setup, support, take down and clean-up.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs skilled preventive maintenance to runway and taxiway electrical, building electrical systems, generators and transfer switches of emergency power sources and reports deficiencies, including all navigational aids for all runways and taxiways per FAA guidelines
• Services and repairs all specialized airport vehicles including emergency vehicles, fueling trucks, aircraft tug, and related specialized equipment
• Performs regular preventive maintenance on airport facilities, including carpentry, electrical and plumbing work and other as assigned
• Performs grounds maintenance, including mowing grass, weed control, drainage control, keeping parking lots / fueling areas free of debris, spraying non-regulated herbicides and pesticides
• Manages parts and materials inventory, including purchasing and stocking
• Maintains accurate work orders and documentation for all maintenance activities
• Reviews plans and specifications for compliance with applicable safety and security regulations and ensure the operational needs of the airport are met
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of experience in building maintenance, construction, vehicle maintenance or related field

Preferred Qualifications
• One (1) year of experience in airport operations
• Experience in diesel repair

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
• Valid driver’s license
• Non-commercial pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment
