Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join one of our clients teams at (3) of their properties in Milwaukee, WI (53209). The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience of maintenance management, hands-on maintenance, strong organizational skills and someone that will lead by example. Plumbing, unit turns and work order experience is required for this role. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion).

This role will be working with roughly 100 units.

Salary: $21-$25/hour DOQ.

Schedule: Weekly schedule: M-F 8am-4pm. (On-call applicable after conversion).

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to sinks, windows, floors and other parts of the building.
• Daily repair and upkeep of the property including work orders.
• Maintains the grounds as assigned which may include trash pick-up, shoveling, and sweeping curb/dumpster area, maintaining landscape beds and other areas.
• Preparation of vacant units for occupancy which may include cleaning responsibilities.
• Install, repair (including soldering) and maintain various plumbing; heating and air conditioning fixtures; perform metal fabrication and welding.
• Installation and repair of major and minor appliances (e.g. washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwashers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues, diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure issues are resolved.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
• Complete minor work orders such as snake toilets, snake drains, clear slow draining tubs, adjust/replace door closure, remove/replace caulking and replace locks, deadbolts and passage locks.
• Complete basic plumbing work orders such as repair leaking faucets, replace faucets, and replace different components of toilets such as flapper, toilet handle and ballcocks.
• Demonstrate courteous and efficient customer service at all times.
• Provide direction and maintenance training, as necessary, to team members.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 3 years’ experience in residential/multi-family maintenance.
• Boilers License required.
• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain professional environment and appearance.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation as this role will be roving to multiple properties.
• Be able to pass a background check before employment.
