Priory Newcombe Lodge has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Priory Newcombe Lodge, Bussage, Gloucestershire is a 7-bedded transitional recovery service for females aged 13–18. It is accessible by public transport, with a bus stop approximately 1 minute from the service providing links into Stroud, with Stroud railway station and local bus station nearby. The M5 and M4 motorways are also within easy reach, providing wider regional access.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

You will be required to work across 3 sites: Althea Park House in Stroud - a 10 bed care home for residents with eating disorders (16+) Newcombe Lodge in Bussage - a 7 bed children's home (13-18 years old) The Lighthouse in Stroud - a 5 bed children's home (13-18 years old)

You will have access to a van during working hours, thus holding a valid driving licence (manual) is necessary. You will also be provided with a laptop and mobile phone in order that you are contactable by the homes, can liaise with external contractors and can manage invoices relating to the maintenance of the homes.

You will report into each individual home manager, and you will be responsible for ensuring the Common Maintenance Standards are maintained, as defined in the General Property Maintenance Guide.

You will contribute to the delivery of effective, efficient and economical day-to-day maintenance, new and alteration works to ensure the safety of colleagues, residents and visitors and that they experience a pleasant and cared for environment.

You will be required to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm though this can be flexible upon request.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A positive, customer-focused approach and strong team-working skills.

The following experience would be beneficial

  • Experience or knowledge in a building, plumbing, mechanical or electrical trade.
