We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $22.00–$30.00 hourly wage. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Facilities & Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining the Brimfield and Fiskdale facilities and supporting manufacturing operations through the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems and production equipment. This position ensures compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO, EPA, OSHA, and Viant policies while contributing to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment. The Technician represents Viant professionally when interacting with employees, contractors, suppliers, and the community.
Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance
• Maintain company buildings, grounds, offices, production areas, restrooms, storage facilities, and common areas.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and infrastructure.
• Identify facility deficiencies and proactively address maintenance needs.
• Assist with office moves, machine relocations, facility upgrades, and special projects.
• Coordinate and communicate with contractors and service providers as required.
Equipment Maintenance
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing equipment including CNC Milling Machines, CNC Lathes, Swiss/Screw Machines, Wire EDM (WEDM)
• Diagnose equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble equipment components using hand and power tools.
• Support machine installations, moves, and production equipment improvement projects.
• Maintain small facility equipment and support systems.
Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for facility and manufacturing equipment.
• Complete Repair and Maintenance (R&M) work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Document troubleshooting activities, repairs performed, and corrective actions taken.
• Maintain maintenance records in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Safety & Compliance
• Identify and report safety concerns and assist with implementing corrective actions.
• Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, confined space, and facility safety procedures.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, EPA, and company quality requirements.
• Participate in safety training, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S principles.
General Responsibilities
• Respond to maintenance requests professionally, safely, and efficiently.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as authorized.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing priorities.
• Support departmental goals through teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma, GED required or technical school certification, vocational training, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance, facilities, manufacturing, or related technical experience.
• Experience in CNC machining environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair skills.
• Working knowledge of: Electrical systems, Plumbing systems, Carpentry, Pneumatic systems, Hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Proficient knowledge of CNC machining equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs efficiently.
• Ability to prioritize workload and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to identify opportunities for equipment and facility improvements and recommend corrective actions.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work order documentation.
Additional Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation for travel between company locations and supply vendors.
• Ability to work flexible hours when required to support manufacturing operations.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds safely and frequently.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
• Ability to work in confined spaces when required.
• Frequent use of hand tools requires fine motor skills and finger dexterity.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to: Machine noise, Cutting and machining fluids, Solvents and lubricants, Woodworking and metalworking equipment
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Gloves, Protective footwear, Other PPE as required by company policies and job tasks
