
Title: Maintenance Technician
Selected by: Board of School Trustees by Recommendation of the Superintendent and School Principal
Evaluated by: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy of the SCSC Classified Employee Handbook.
Reports to: Director of Facilities and Grounds
Terms of
Employment: 12 month period. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
To maintain the physical integrity of all school facilities and grounds in condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrates computer skills (ticket system, Metasys, emails, etc.)
Able to lift 50-100 pounds and perform physical duties including, but not limited to, climbing ladders, using lifts up to 48', working on roofs, etc.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, with a Technical Degree, preferred.
Training and understanding in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondences, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply general mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community, and ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.
