Key Accountabilities
Maintenance
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and plant assets to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
Manufacture fabricated bake oven block frames, refurbish existing precast moulds and construct brand-new moulds as required.
Perform routine maintenance on precast mixer blades and all equipment across the entire precast production line to guarantee continuous manufacturing stock supply of precast components.
Equipment Breakdown Troubleshooting & Vendor Coordination
Liaise and coordinate with mechanical and electrical service providers for complex equipment failures.
Independently diagnose and fix minor equipment malfunctions on-site;
Arrange third-party technicians to resolve major technical issues to reduce unplanned production breakdown time.
Maintenance Planning & Execution
Define maintenance planning and ensure the support on shutdown activities, equipment overhauls, and maintenance projects while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and within schedule.
Equipment Inspection & Performance Monitoring
Conduct routine inspections, identify all critical machine spare parts and maintain sufficient stock levels.
Develop planned replacement schedules for worn components to replace parts before equipment failure occurs.
Create, distribute and review daily & weekly equipment maintenance checklists completed by production operators to ensure all inspection tasks are fully executed.
Building & External Yard Facility Maintenance
Carry out full maintenance for factory buildings, office areas and external yards, including regular weed control and structural repairs.
Conduct timely corrective actions for all safety observations (SOFI) raised on site to rectify unsafe working conditions and improve overall site safety standards.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, statutory regulations, and safety requirements.
Comply with mandatory PPE requirements, Take 5 risk assessments, LOTOTO isolation procedures and all site safety protocols at all times
Follow S7 site safety standards, implement all safety improvement actions, and strive to achieve zero safety incidents within the production area.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Production and external service providers to support equipment upgrades, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to reliability improvement programs and maintenance optimization initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reduce maintenance costs, and improve operational efficiency.
Ad-hoc tasks assigned by line manager
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
Trade background in mechanical maintenance, welding, hydraulics or pneumatics;
Formal training in industrial machinery troubleshooting is preferred.
Completed certified safety training covering Take 5, LOTOTO and site isolation procedures.
Experience & Industry Exposure
Practical hands-on experience maintaining heavy manufacturing or precast production line equipment;
Prior experience repairing moulds, mixing machinery and factory structural frames is highly advantageous.
Strong EHS awareness, knowledge and experiences.
Related experience in refractory industry is preferred.
Technical Knowledge & Systems
Competent in daily, quarterly and annual planned maintenance inspection management;
Able to develop equipment adjustment and parts replacement schedules.
Proficient in fault diagnosis for all types of mechanical production equipment.
Skills and Competencies
Technical skills:
Skilled in welding, hydraulic & pneumatic system maintenance, and industrial cutting tool operation
Strong mechanical troubleshooting capability for production line machinery
Proficient use of all standard hand tools: pliers, screwdrivers, drills, wrenches
Ability to fabricate, refurbish and repair precast moulds and bakeoven block frames
Spare parts stock control and preventive maintenance scheduling
Problem solving & Communication:
Independently resolve minor equipment faults; escalate and organise external support for major failures
Analyse maintenance checklist data to identify recurring equipment risks
Clear communication with Operation/Production Manager on maintenance status, spare part shortages and safety issues
EHS competencies:
Full understanding and strict execution of S7 safety rules, Take 5 risk assessment, LOTOTO lockout-tagout procedures
Strict adherence to mandatory PPE and all site work safety standards
