Maintenance TechnicianThis position is accountable for: Providing support to the plant by means of repair, replacement, and/or renewal of equipment or components. Any activity necessary within the scope of skills within the principal accountabilities for this position and those of General Maintenance position. Completing assigned documentation, maintain cleanliness of maintenance shop and other work areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Soft Skills and Other Competencies:
Accidents involving injuries, property damage, and spills must be reported immediately. Near misses (close calls) are also important for loss control and must be reported as well. Lean Enterprise 5-S standards must be maintained in all assigned areas.
Environmental Conditions:
This position will experience a wide range of conditions. From office conditions to actual shop floor exposure. There is no condition that exists that this position will not be exposed to
Personal Protection Equipment:
Must be worn, when required in specific areas. Includes, but is not limited to Safety Glasses with side shields, Hearing Protection and Safety Shoes.
Required Skills and Education
Minimum score of 70% on knowledge (including both practical and written) test chosen by GKN Sinter Metals or completion of approved apprenticeship program
High School Diploma/GED
Valid Forklift License (This is obtained at GKN), valid articulated scissor lift license and Genie Boom.
Necessary eye and muscular coordination to perform job.
