SCOPE

Maintenance Technicians are members of the X-Cel Industries team. They perform various maintenance activities to ensure that X-Cel equipment is always in excellent condition and capable of supporting all of our customer’s needs. This position involves responsibilities in three (4) key areas: Quality, Safety, Maintenance and Housekeeping.
Maintenance Technicians must possess personal commitment and availability beyond regular business hours.
RELATIONSHIPS
The Maintenance Technician is an associate of the maintenance department. This position is part of the maintenance team which includes the Paint Systems Manager, Plant Manager, and fellow associates. As a team member this position is expected to fully cooperate with all X-Cel associates as necessary for the mutual benefit of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safety
1. Meet all operating safety rules in accordance with X-Cel and local safety regulations.
2. Safely handling and processing of materials including raw, processed, and hazardous waste.
3. No loose clothing, hair or jewelry.
4. No smoking (except in designated areas).
5. Safety glasses recommended.
6. Report all accidents no matter how minor (no exceptions).
2. Maintenance
• Ensure all scheduled maintenance is performed on time and documented correctly.
• Communicate any concerns regarding equipment to the Technical Manager.
• All purchases or spending must be approved in writing prior to purchase (see Purchase Requisition).
• All facility maintenance must be monitored by this associate. Report any needs to the Tech. Manager.
• It is your responsibility to complete and store all records that you use. This will be reviewed by
Management.
PM all machinery and help develop and maintain AM/PM Callendar
Work on and maintain existing conveyor lines and associated equipment
Utilize existing Skill trade knowledge as well as develop new knowledge while working with other associates
Maintain operation of all systems (PTED, Paint, Assembly) and all associated equipment.
Preform Facility maintenance tasks as required.
Preform Root Cause analysis for trouble shooting all given down time.
Preform and utilize Kizan for continual improvement of existing systems.

3. Quality
• Obtain a complete understanding of all Quality Management System Procedures that relate to your area.
7. Avoid any downtime on the Production line due to maintenance related issues.
8. Ensure all scheduled maintenance is performed without exception so that equipment is able to run according to design specifications
9. Communicate any and all concerns regarding equipment to Maintenance Manager.
10. Conduct inventory audit on critical spare parts as directed by Maintenance Manager.
4. Housekeeping
11. It is your responsibility to appropriately clean areas where maintenance is performed.
12. You are responsible for the cleanliness of the maintenance area inside the plant.
13. You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself while on breaks (i.e. cans, bottles, wrappers etc..).

QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING
• Orientation (Company rules and regulations)

• Contents of this job description
• X-Cel Quality systems
• Problem solving and prevent reoccurrence methods (eight disciplines)
• CPIT and CIT participation
• Annual hazardous waste training per Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA)

EDUCATION
• Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Commitment to pursue the above
• 5 years experience or more may be substituted at management’s discretion.
EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience in a production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Blue print interpretation.
• Basic knowledge of ISO/IATF16949:2016 Management System

• Ability to work additional hours as required.
• Physical strength to perform tasks.
