Job Description

New Avenues is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. We take pride in being a leader in non-profit, which continues to serve individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for over 70 years!

Responsibilities:

Performing minor preventative maintenance as assigned

Taking service orders and prioritizing them in a timely manner

Interacting on a regular basis with residents and employees of group home

Minor appliance repairs/replacing any appliances as needed.

Performing minor to moderate level plumbing repairs including replacement/installation as needed.

Repairing/replacing light fixtures and performing other minor electrical work

Miscellaneous lock repairs

Carpentry tasks such as installing door hardware, hinges, window repair/replacement, and shelving.

Preparing vacated rooms for occupancy

Requirements

Qualifications:

Must be 18 yrs of age or older

Must have a HS diploma or GED

1-2 yrs of maintenance experience; preferably in a multi-family home setting.

Moderate knowledge of repair and maintenance to household appliances, plumbing and light fixtures.

Able to operate basic hand/power tools (drill, saw, circular saw, plumbing hand tools, screw driver set).

Able to function independently and as part of a team

Strong multi-tasking and communication skills.

Must be able to lift 50lbs or more

Must have a valid OH DL with less than 4pts.
