Job Description

***Swing Shift - 3:00pm to 11:30pm***

Proactively create programs to improve yield and process efficiencies in production environment. Support new product introductions and Engineering Change Notifications (ECN), as they relate to tooling, CNC and PLC programming, shop floor routings, and equipment. Support the shop floor in reporting needs, problem solving, workflow, standard work, and quality systems. Complete projects in assigned areas to improve process and operational functionality. Design production tooling and equipment as needed.

The purpose of this position is to provide maintenance services to the facility. This includes aligning saw blades, bearings, belts, sprockets and gear boxes; welding; use of a variety of hand tools for maintenance and repair to support the achievement of site business goals and objectives. This position requires the ability to work well with customers throughout the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Assist in safety maintenance throughout facility, offices, and on all company property.
  • Schedule, coordinate, document and log all daily and project work.
  • Design projects, specifically involving welding.
  • Understand all mechanical aspects of the equipment and how equipment interacts with each others.
  • Perform general cleaning around areas after maintenance work has been completed.
  • Assist with production & facility equipment moves.
  • Complete all work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (D7i).
  • Manage small-scale projects.
  • May perform Sander Technician duties (set up, preventative maintenance, etc.).
  • Support Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS).

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED
  • Forklift certified and competent
  • Mechanical skills, including pneumatic and hydraulic
  • Fabrication (welding) knowledge and experience
  • Millwright certification preferred
  • Ability to make decisions requiring judgment on highly diversified work.
  • Knowledge of lock-out policy for facility equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with internal and external customers, both verbally and in written form.

Additional Information

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to wood dust and cabinet-making-related materials.
  • Exposure to hot and cold elements due to a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Wearing of Personal Protection Equipment required: eye and ear protection.

  • Frequent head/neck static position, rotation, flexion, and extension.
  • Frequent change in torso/back position, frequent stooping, bending, and twisting.

  • Frequent simple grasp, firm grasp, and wrist flexion.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and climbing of stairs and ramps.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and carrying.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb step, extension, and stationary ladders to a height of 60 feet and perform effectively on a lift that will raise up to 20 feet.
