Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance, operational support, environmental assistance, and special facility projects. You will use your technical expertise to ensure equipment reliability, maintain safe operations, and support continuous facility improvements. This role works in a plant processing environment with exposure to noise, heat, moving machinery, confined spaces, and elevated areas, with regular medical screening required per company safety programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Complete routine scheduled preventative maintenance across assigned facilities.
  • Document all maintenance activities in logs and complete required reports.
  • Diagnose, repair, and service equipment using hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, replacements, and modifications as needed.
  • Prepare for on-site installations and repairs by coordinating materials and anticipating challenges.
  • Inspect wastewater discharge pits and evaluate equipment for signs of failure.
  • Determine repair parts needed, coordinate with purchasing, and track materials and labor.
  • Maintain accurate service logs, paperwork, and safety documentation.
  • Provide technical support to the Plant Supervisor and collaborate with operations.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School, or five (5) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance processes, industrial safety, and mechanical terminology.
  • Experience with mechanical repair (electrical and welding), electrical troubleshooting, and reading/interpreting electrical drawings.
  • Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills; some PLC experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand for periods up to 3 hours.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated locations.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
  • On-call availability required.
