Job Description

Basic Function:

Repairs and maintains electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position is primarily focused on electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, with secondary responsibility for general mechanical support as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Troubleshoots and repairs electrical systems, including motors, relays, switches, and wiring.
  2. Performs electrical testing using multimeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.
  3. Diagnoses and repairs issues with 240V / 480V 3-phase systems.
  4. Replaces or repairs faulty electrical components to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  5. Observes equipment in operation and identifies causes of electrical failures.
  6. Assists with PLC troubleshooting and maintenance (preferred but not required).
  7. Performs preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  8. Dismantles equipment as needed to access and replace defective components.
  9. Tests equipment after repairs to verify proper operation.
  10. Provides mechanical support including basic repairs to hydraulics, pneumatics, and machinery as needed.
  11. Maintains a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment.
  12. Follows all safety policies and procedures, especially related to electrical work.
  13. Works with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Requirements

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong electrical background (primary requirement)
  • Experience working with 240V / 480V 3-phase systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot motors, wiring, relays, and electrical controls
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment (multimeters, ammeters, ohmmeters)
  • PLC knowledge is a plus, but not required
  • Willingness to support mechanical maintenance as needed
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics preferred
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
