About the Role
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of refrigeration systems, facility infrastructure, and distribution center equipment within a temperature-controlled warehouse environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, supporting product quality, and minimizing downtime across the facility.
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment to support continuous operations
- Ensure facility infrastructure is maintained, including general building upkeep and basic construction tasks such as drywall, framing, and painting
- Monitor and adjust equipment settings to meet operational needs and maintain product quality standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues efficiently
- Build, repair, and maintain storage systems, including pallet racking, CFR racking, and shelving
- Partner with external contractors to support maintenance activities and ensure equipment reliability
- Maintain safe, compliant, and well-functioning equipment and facility conditions

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to work in a warehouse and refrigerated environment (approximately 34°F) and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Flexibility required to work night shifts during peak seasons, holidays, and to provide coverage as needed

QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring
• HVAC certification required
• Previous refrigeration experience in cold storage or refrigerated warehousing required
• Previous general maintenance experience required
• Knowledge of building trades (drywall, framing, electrical, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and plumbing systems
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license required
