Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all car wash equipment and site facilities. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and keep each site running smoothly. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, takes pride in maintaining a clean and functional environment, and works well both independently and as part of a team. This position requires regular travel between sites, hands-on technical work, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, replacing defective parts, setting clearances, and aligning moving and stationary components using hand and power tools.
• Weld, repair, and fabricate parts or equipment as needed to maintain optimal functionality.
• Cut, fabricate, or dismantle equipment and machinery using torches and other cutting tools.
• Keep equipment running smoothly by performing preventive maintenance, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
• Document all work performed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to maintain accurate equipment history and close out work orders.
• Update and red-line drawings to correct discrepancies between documentation and actual site conditions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
• Participate in required training to enhance technical skills and safety awareness.
• Follow all company policies and procedures while upholding safety, environmental, and equal employment standards.
• Be flexible to work extended hours, weekends, or travel to multiple sites as needed.
• What You’ll Be Doing
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to maintain and repair mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
• Apply curiosity and problem-solving skills to understand how systems operate and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute ideas to enhance equipment reliability and improve overall wash performance for a consistent customer experience.
• Complete assigned work orders, repair logs, and weekly timesheets with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Support new site installations and equipment launches, ensuring smooth start-up and optimal performance.
• Demonstrate leadership in the field by training site teams on proper operation, preventative maintenance, and repair techniques.
• Lead and help enhance El Car Wash’s maintenance program through proactive inspection, documentation, and communication.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and promote a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
• Strong candidates will have experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair of 3-phase motors, relays, PLCs, and VFDs. On-the-job training will be provided.
