The Mechanic is responsible for the installation and rebuilding machinery and miscellaneous equipment and parts.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
The Maintenance Mechanic will perform all necessary repairs and/or modifications to plant machinery or equipment as required to maintain optimum availability. Repairs may include rebuilding/replacement of machinery, gearboxes, bearings; fabrication to include cutting/welding of metal plates for chutes, structures, etc.
Perform Preventative Maintenance procedures as assigned
Follow all Safety procedures while performing duties to include but not limited to LOTO, wearing appropriate PPE for assigned duties
Perform Level 2 or higher maintenance on equipment in area of responsibility as needed
Maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility as per Imerys standards
Perform any additional duties as described Production Supervisor
Skills and Attributes Requirements
Must be able to effectively communicate both orally or written
Must be able to work shifts as per schedule
Must be able to work in hot and cold weather conditions.
Must be able to climb ladders and work in high places.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
Will be required to wear all necessary PPE
Will require basic computer skills necessary to access/write emails, basic word documents, complete work requests
Education/Experience Requirements
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Two years experience in industrial maintenance and repairs preferred
Environment
While performing the duties of this job; the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise, outside weather in all conditions and materials used in the process.
Frequent walking, standing, and sitting with exposure to all seasonal climatic conditions.
Occasionally lifting, carrying, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
Approximately 100% plant environment.
