Property Maintenance Technician
Location: Supporting teams in Norfolk and Virginia Beach

Hope House Foundation is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of apartments and properties used by the individuals we serve. This role focuses on maintaining safe, well-kept homes and completing repairs and improvements as needed.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable handling a variety of maintenance tasks while working closely with our property management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and general improvements for TRC–owned properties and apartments used by the individuals we support
- Identify maintenance issues and communicate repair needs and recommendations to the supervisor
- Prepare apartments for housing inspections and ensure they meet required standards
- Assist with preparing apartments for move-ins and everyday quick fixes.
- Work closely with the property management team to coordinate maintenance needs and complete work
- Obtain approval for repair and maintenance expenses when needed
- Complete work professionally and in compliance with city codes and regulations
- Submit receipts and maintain accurate records of completed work
- Complete required forms, timesheets, and mileage logs promptly

Qualifications

Experience: Basic plumbing skills (toilets, faucets, etc.) and basic electrical knowledge (receptacles, lighting , switches, etc.)
- At least 2 years of experience in property maintenance, construction, or a related field.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with building codes, maintenance best practices, and emergency response protocols.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and excellent communication skills.
- Technical: Basic knowledge of interior finishes (painting, flooring,etc)
- Ability to use basic tools and equipment for repairs, and knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
