
Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Provide repair and maintenance support in the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation areas of the facility.
Perform preventive maintenance service.
Position Scope
Scope is specific to Chicago Oleo Plant
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant wide equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of plant wide equipment.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
Repair and maintain mechanical electrical and instrumentation equipment in the facility as directed by supervisor.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on various equipment.
Use hand and power tools as required to perform routine equipment maintenance functions.
Use powered Man lifts (Eg JLG’s) and Scissor lifts to gain safe access to equipment.
Transport and lift equipment using forklift trucks and other specialist equipment.
Certify plant instruments following established ISO guidelines.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/instrumentation problems, diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
Always follow all safety procedures.
Install new equipment as required.
Maintain and upgrade plant facilities as required.
Desire to train and increase skill levels in other areas from core skill eg. Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation.
Complete record keeping documentation such as work orders, parts withdrawal, safety permits, etc. including entering information into the computer system.
Responsible for FSSC/GMP food safety related to designated area.
Report any food safety and quality related issues to management immediately.
Education & Experience
Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D required
City of Chicago Electricians license
Trade School Certificate
Experience:
3-5 years of applicable maintenance experience in a manufacturing process plant environment, preferably Chemical or Petro Chemical.
Ability to pass third party trade tests as required

Pay and Benefits
The starting rate for this position is $39.89/hr.
