Job Description

Position: Maintenance Technician

Department: PSSM

Availability of Position: ASAP

Schedule Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm

Reporting Relationship: Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Housing and Project Coordinator

Salary/Grade $20 per hour

Responsibilities

About:

The Salvation Army, Ivy Residence is a 127 1- bedroom apartment complex facility that houses senior citizens 62 years and older and is located in West Philadelphia. It is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

of Position:

Under the direction of the Business and Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and condition of the Ivy Residences and surrounding property. This will include a daily routine cleaning schedule of all common areas, trash removal, inspection of rooms/property, complete work orders, painting, preventative maintenance and care and upkeep.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience in multifamily maintenance and experience involving affordable housing, senior housing, or special needs housing.
  • Must be able to keep information in a confidential and secure fashion.
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED and at least two years building maintenance experience.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work in an environment with multiple changing work priorities.
  • Good verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
