Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, inspections, and general mechanical repairs across hospital facilities and properties under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance. This role ensures hospital buildings, equipment, and grounds remain safe, operational, and compliant with hospital policies and safety standards. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond efficiently to service requests while supporting overall hospital operations.
Essential Functions
As a Maintenance Technician, you will:
-  Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections
-  Repair, install, and maintain electrical and plumbing systems
-  Perform building repairs including painting, roofing, ceilings, and general construction
-  Maintain laundry equipment (washers & dryers)
-  Assist with HVAC systems (up to 80-ton units preferred)
-  Maintain grounds: mowing, trimming, snow & ice removal, debris cleanup
-  Respond promptly to work orders (verbal, written, electronic)
-  Ensure safety, sanitation, and security standards are met
-  Complete service documentation accurately
-  Assist with departmental projects as assigned
Your work directly supports patient care by keeping hospital facilities safe and fully operational.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous maintenance repair experience
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing & construction troubleshooting
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work at heights when needed
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to handle interruptions
- Ability to read, write, and follow directions in English
Preferred

Qualifications:
- Vocational training in maintenance
- HVAC experience (up to 80-ton systems)
- Experience with Metasys systems
- Experience with low-pressure water boilers
Physical & Work Environment
This is an active, hands-on position requiring:
- Standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and reaching
- Exposure to outdoor elements (0–100°F weather conditions)
- Occasional exposure to electrical systems and drainage/sewage systems
- Work at heights (rooftops, boom lifts)
