px Americas is a leading provider of commissioning, start-up and operations-readiness services for LNG assets and energy sectors across North America and beyond. As we expand our footprint into the Bahamas we are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician.

The Maintenance Technician ensures the integrity and reliability of all mechanical equipment at the LNG Import Terminal—including cryogenic systems—by delivering high-quality preventive and corrective maintenance. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude to maintain asset integrity and ensure performance meets operational excellence and international safety and environmental standards. The position supports both planned and unplanned work, equipment surveillance, and cross-functional collaboration to drive safety, environmental stewardship, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, assist with root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, piping systems, compressors, exchangers, tanks, cryogenic equipment, and rotating/static equipment.
  • Support mechanical isolations and permit-to-work preparation, including job hazard analysis and risk assessments.
  • Create, plan, schedule & complete work orders and all associated documentation within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Assist with commissioning/start-up activities and maintenance turnaround scopes.
  • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance strategies aligned with OEM recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Act as primary contact for OEMs, contractors, and vendors during repairs and overhaul projects.
  • Manage critical spare parts identification and support materials management for mechanical assets.
  • Prepare and review job packs including drawings, SOPs, tooling, and safety controls.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and act in designated support roles.
  • Train and mentor local hires and apprentices as part of skills transfer programs.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Trade certification or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar field.
  • Min. of 3-5 yrs experience in an industrial environment (such as Power, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical)
  • Familiarity with rotating and static mechanical equipment maintenance best practices.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety standards, ANSI/API codes, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
