Job Description

Performs routine and emergency repairs to insure proper and safe operation of CAPSLO facilities. Performs building, plumbing, and equipment maintenance; janitorial services; and groundskeeping. Actual assigned duties may vary by location and particular work site needs. Priorities for special projects will be set with the assistance of the Facilities Supervisor and Program Director(s). Supports CAPSLO’s mission by performing a variety of facilities related tasks as needed to ensure safe operations and remain in compliance with regulations, as well as providing a comfortable environment for staff, children and clients.
What you bring to the table:
• Level I: One year experience in performing carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, building maintenance, janitorial, landscape maintenance or any combination of education, training or experience. Knowledge of operation of light equipment, hand tools and tools commonly used in maintenance and repair.
• Level II: Minimum of two years general experience performing carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, building maintenance, janitorial, landscape maintenance or any combination of education, training or experience, which will provide the required knowledge skills and abilities.
• Level III: Minimum of three years general experience performing carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, building maintenance, janitorial, landscape maintenance or any combination of education, training or experience, which will provide the required knowledge skills and abilities.
What you will do as a Maintenance Technician:
• Performs building, equipment, and grounds maintenance including minor repairs, light carpentry, painting, plumbing, and playground upkeep
• Provides year-round groundskeeping and janitorial services such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms, trash removal, floor waxing, and rug shampooing
• Cleans and maintains tools and equipment; manages inventory of cleaning and gardening supplies; picks up and disposes of trash and debris
• Conducts preventative maintenance per department requirements, ensuring adherence to safety practices
• Schedules and performs routine and preventative maintenance for buildings, equipment, and grounds
• Oversees, trains, and supervises part-time staff, helpers, clients, or other technicians as needed; provides direction to Maintenance Technician I
• Reports major repair and maintenance issues and makes recommendations to supervisor or program director
• Performs other duties as needed
