We are looking for Maintenance professionals with experience in Manufacturing and Production to join our team! We have positions on all three shifts available, with shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shift. The Maintenance Technician will repair equipment during downtime situations, perform routine maintenance on equipment at scheduled intervals, and repair serviceable components offline. This team member is also expected to continuously evaluate equipment condition and seek opportunities for improving repair times and effectiveness.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Respond to production downtime requests in a timely manner with a focus on positive internal customer service.
  • Troubleshoot faulty equipment to root cause, perform quality repairs as needed and escalate concerns to necessary departments.
  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment, while documenting work in Maintenance Management System.
  • Assist in the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment, including making connections to facility level utilities.
  • Provide input as needed when equipment is purchased or upgraded to improve service and maintainability.
  • Leverage Inventory Management System to locate and source available machine components.
  • Mentor and develop Maintenance I and II team members going through the Gentex-sponsored apprenticeship program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties , including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.

WHAT TO BRING

  • 2-year technical degree or Journeyman certification.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, vacuum pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Meet the Following Physical Demands:
    • High level of hand dexterity/coordination
    • Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about for 8 hours.
    • Ability to ascend ladders and traverse multiple building floors and areas.
    • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Bending, reaching, squatting, or otherwise positioning body around equipment of varying heights
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • Experience working with CAD software.
  • Experience with troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller programs.
  • Experience in electrical panel wiring
  • Experience in machining
  • Experience in automated robotic systems
  • Experience in inventory management systems
