The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance for manufacturing equipment

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor / Manager

Essential Functions of Classification

  1. Drilling and tapping; basic machine shop work
  2. Mechanical repairs including extracting broken bolts
  3. Welding and fabrication
  4. Electrical wiring, conduit installation and hardwiring trouble shooting
  5. Hydraulic repairs on pumps, valves, cylinders. Knowledgeable of hydraulic hose, pipe tubing and fittings.
  6. Hydraulic system knowledge to include pre-charging and bleeding accumulators, relief valve setting and pressure switch settings.
  7. Properly set up die cast machine strain gages
  8. Support equipment maintenance and operation (pumps, air compressors), HVAC equipment maintenance
  9. Electrical and hydraulic systems trouble shooting
  10. Mechanical troubleshooting including assisting production in proper tie bar loading and balancing per given job
  11. Electronic controls component knowledge
  12. Operation and repairs on support equipment, such as air compressors, propane vaporizer, water systems, etc.
  13. Wastewater system operation
  14. Equipment interface wiring and cables
  15. Furnace adjustments and calibrations per given instructions
  16. Knowledge of plant power, water, and air distribution
  17. Instructs junior level personnel
  18. Maintenance and repairs on die cast process monitors



Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • Tech School / Vocational Training preferred

Experience

  • 1+ Year of experience working on die-casting machinery

Requirements and Certifications

  • Computer literate
  • Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings
  • Understanding of factory equipment (furnaces, heaters, ladles, hoists, time saver, air compressors, sump pumps, exhaust fans, vacuum systems, welding,) and reparation
  • Must be able to communicate in English
