The Maintenance Technician with direction from the maintenance supervisor, you will perform duties throughout the facility and properties to maintain a clean and fully functional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all outside walkways are clear of debris, snow and ice.
  • Maintains all facility roadways/drives.
  • Maintains stock levels of materials and parts within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensures work sites are left clean and tools and equipment are returned to storage.
  • Assists in maintaining and repairing HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.
  • Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisition repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required.
  • Performs maintenance on equipment and systems as required.
  • As required, assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems. Inspects and tests equipment/systems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance duties to all physical structures of facility and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls.
  • Assists in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required.
  • Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
  • Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material).
  • Reads blueprints, interprets instructions and prepares specifications.
  • A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.
  • Orients new staff members to Fire/Safety/alarm and signal systems.
  • A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment. Responsible for the upkeep of facility grounds. Ensure landscaping is uniform with a satisfactory appearance.
  • Possesses vast knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems and maintenance, herbicides/pesticides.
  • Follows established schedules for trimming/pruning, fertilizing, mowing the lawn, planting, etc.
  • Operates all equipment/tools correctly and safely. Follows all safety regulations: wears safety apparel when working, i.e., safety glasses, appropriate shoes.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment/tools; maintenance is documented.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications



Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Three to six (3-6) months’ related experience and/or training in grounds maintenance and facility maintenance
  • Current or willingness to obtain BLS certification
