MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN — 2ND SHIFT

Behind every bottle of ketchup that leaves our Rockford facility is a production floor that has to run — and run right. The Fremont Company has been manufacturing food products for over 121 years, and the people who keep our equipment moving are as important as anyone on the floor.

We're looking for a Maintenance Technician on 2nd Shift who knows their way around industrial machinery and takes satisfaction in solving problems nobody else can.

THE ROLE

You'll be the go-to on 2nd Shift when something needs attention. Diagnosing problems, turning wrenches, keeping the line running — that's your night. You'll work alongside production and report to maintenance leadership to make sure equipment is performing the way it should.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures on production equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
• Diagnose issues quickly and get the line back up and running
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed
• Identify recurring problems and help develop lasting fixes
• Support installation and startup of new or modified equipment
• Keep your work area and tools clean, organized, and safe

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We'll consider candidates at all experience levels — from those just starting out to seasoned technicians who've seen it all. What matters is mechanical aptitude, a problem-solving mindset, and the drive to keep getting better.

• Mechanical background in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics a plus
• Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and standard maintenance equipment
• Strong troubleshooting instincts — you don't just fix symptoms, you find the cause
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently on 2nd Shift
• Experience in food manufacturing a bonus, not a requirement
